In short
Cookies only with your say-so
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use a few to keep the site working, and others to measure how the site and our advertising perform.
If you visit from the UK or the European Economic Area, we ask which cookies you are happy for us to use when you first arrive: accept all, reject all, or choose analytics and advertising separately under Manage settings. Until you switch a category on, none of its cookies are set, and the only measurement we do is counting visits without cookies (see Analytics below). If you reject them, the site works exactly the same. If you visit from anywhere else, analytics and advertising cookies are on by default and we do not show the banner; you can switch either off at any time under Your privacy choices, and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, advertising cookies start off. Cookies that keep the site working do not need your consent, so they are always on. Press Moose is a trading name of Rhino Rank LTD, which is responsible for this site. Questions: [email protected].
Always on
Necessary cookies
These make the site work, such as signing in, and cannot be switched off. They are only ever read by pressmoose.com.
- pm_session
- Keeps you signed in to your account. Lasts 30 days, or until you log out.
- pm_oauth_req
- Holds a pending request while you connect an AI assistant to your account. Lasts 30 minutes.
- pm_consent
- Remembers which cookie categories you switched on or off, so we do not ask on every page. Lasts 6 months.
- pm_region
- Set only for visits from outside the UK and EEA, to remember that the cookie banner is not needed there. Holds no personal data, just the word open, and is refreshed or removed on every page you load. Lasts 1 day.
Only if you switch them on
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and whether they complete steps such as creating an account. We use it to improve the site. Google processes this data on our behalf. The tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager, which sets no cookies of its own and loads nothing on this list unless you switch on the category it belongs to. Google may process this data outside the UK, including in the United States, with the safeguards UK data protection law requires. We also use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to see how people move through the site and the customer area, including session recordings that replay clicks and page changes with every form field masked, and to catch errors. When you are signed in and have switched analytics on, PostHog links this to your account (name and email). Before you switch analytics on, PostHog only counts page views and the steps above without cookies or any stored identifier, and never records sessions. PostHog processes this data on our behalf.
- _ga
- Google Analytics. Tells visits from the same browser apart, so we can count visitors. Lasts 2 years.
- _ga_1VHNVBW1C5
- Google Analytics. Keeps track of your current visit. Lasts 2 years.
- ph_…_posthog and ph_…_posthog_cpm
- PostHog. A cookie and a matching browser-storage entry that tell visits from the same browser apart and hold your current session, plus a small cookie that keeps the two in step. Last 1 year. Removed when you switch analytics off.
- PostHog session storage and consent record
- PostHog keeps the current tab's session in session storage (cleared when you close the tab) and, only once you have switched analytics on, remembers that in browser storage (__ph_opt_in_out_…). Neither is shared with anyone else.
- pm_event
- Set by pressmoose.com, only if you switched on analytics or advertising cookies. Tells the analytics and advertising tags you allowed that you have just finished creating an account. Removed as soon as it has been read, and after 5 minutes at most.
Only if you switch them on
Advertising cookies
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram and use the Meta Pixel to measure whether those ads lead to accounts, enquiries and orders. When you switch on advertising cookies, the pixel sends Meta the pages you visit on pressmoose.com, and when you create an account, send us a message through the contact form or pay for an order (with the order number and amount), along with your IP address and browser details. Meta uses this to measure and improve our ads, under its own privacy policy, and may process it outside the UK, including in the United States, with the safeguards UK data protection law requires. Google Ads cookies are not in use yet; this page will be updated before they are.
- _fbp
- Meta Pixel. Recognises your browser, so Meta can tell when someone who saw our ads visits the site or places an order. Lasts 90 days.
- _fbc
- Meta Pixel. Set only when you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram ad, to link your visit to that ad. Lasts 90 days.
- Meta's own cookies
- If you are signed in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, or your browser allows cross-site cookies, Meta may also read its own cookies (such as fr), which are set on its domains and covered by Meta's cookie policy.
- _gcl_au (Google Ads, not in use yet)
- Links a visit to a Google ad you clicked, so we can see which ads lead to sign-ups and orders. Lasts 90 days.
Your choice
Change your mind at any time
Use the button below, or Your privacy choices at the bottom of any page, to switch analytics or advertising cookies on or off. If you switch a category off after accepting it, we remove its cookies from your browser. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though blocking the necessary ones stops you signing in.
